What is Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage?

Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage is a blend of modern, western massage methods, combined with genuine Tibetan acupressure techniques. It incorporates the traditional principles and theories of ancient Tibetan medicine.

History of Tibetan Medicine

In Tibetan medicine there is a following of the Ayurvedic beliefs. Ayurvedic literally means 'The Science of Life' and is a system for maintaining health and preventing illness by following certain principles and philosophies. Today, there are two structured religious teachings within Tibetan culture. One is Buddhism and the other is Bon (pronounced 'bu-un'), which means to invoke a deity. There is very little information available on Bon, but it appears to be similar to Hinduism.
The Bon religion developed about 1,000 years ago but kept the philosophies of a much older culture. According to Bon practitioners, these philosophies spread to northern India about 6,000 years ago where they developed into Ayurveda. Buddhism came to Tibet from India in the 6th century, but retained the Bon principles and philosophies with regard to health.
