Indian Head Massage
Why Should I Choose Indian Head Massage?
Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system, a holistic healing system using natural therapies and encompassing the mind, body and spirit. An Indian Head Massage is a treatment that involves the therapist kneading, rubbing, squeezing and stroking the body's tissues and muscles. Its aim is to restore harmony and balance to the body and mind. Oils can be used to enhance the treatment and these will also help to keep the hair conditioned, strong and healthy. History of Indian Head Massage The ancient therapy of Indian Head Massage has been practised in India for over 3000 years. The tradition is passed down through families and by the age of six or seven, children are taught to share in the family tradition of massage. Each family will have their own specific routine which they pass down, so there is no formal structure. Indian Head Massage within the home is usually practised by women, whereas massage outside of the home is usually performed by men, taking place in the market, street corners, barbers or even on the beach! Mothers will massage their babies every day and children are massaged every day. The massage helps to promote good physical, emotional and spiritual health. Benefits of Indian Head Massage
