Frequently Asked Questions

Question Mark
Is the therapist fully qualified and insured?

Most definately! I am highly professional and possess nationally recognised qualifications. My Holistic Therapies Diploma (Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Swedish Body Massage and Anatomy and Physiology) is awarded by VTCT and I am a Second Degree Reiki practitioner, attuned by a Reiki Master of many years. I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, the UK's largest professional therapist association. I am also a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists. The FHT also insure me.

Do I need to make the therapist aware of anything?

You need to make me aware of any health issues or medication that you are taking. This will be covered in your initial consultation but it would be useful to mention any major issue during booking in case of any treatment restrictions.

Where will the treatment take place?

I have a treatment room at my home which is ideal for all treatments. It will enable you to be treated in a relaxing, soothing atmosphere, free from outside disturbances. You can sink into relaxation with the help of peaceful music and fragrant incense and oils. However, I am also available as a mobile therapist so am able to travel to your own home if this is easier or preferable. I am also available on Thursday and Friday afternoons at the Holistic-Centre.org in Little Neston, Wirral.

Should I use holistic therapies instead of my GP's medicine or advice?

Definately not. Holistic therapies are intended to complement and work alongside traditional medication and you should not cease to take any prescriptions that you have been given. At times I may need a referral from your doctor if you have a certain condition which is why it is always to mention whilst booking any major ailments.

What happens after the massage?

I will go through suitable after-care advice with you and can give you some relaxation exercises. I will try to advise you on suitable actions to be taken or changes to make and develop a future treatment plan. You will hopefully feel relaxed and more balanced. You may feel some contra-actions (side effects) but this is, in a way, a positive as it is indicating that the treatment has worked and the body is detoxing. I will discuss this with you at the time.

What do I wear?

Ensure that you are wearing comfortable clothes to aid with relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. If you are receiving a Reiki treatment, you will not have to remove any of your clothes and you will simply lie on the bed fully clothed. For Reflexology there is no need to remove any clothing apart from shoes and socks. If you are receiving Indian Head Massage, there are a couple of options. The massage can be performed over your clothes, so again, you do not have to remove your top if you do not wish to. However, the treatment will be greatly enhanced and more beneficial if clothing is removed. Modesty will be respected and the client will be wrapped in a towel or a covering. For either of the body massages, the client will need to remove all clothing apart from underwear. Again, modesty will be respected and parts of the body not receiving a massage at a particular time will be covered. Male clients are preferred to wear a small pair of pants.
